Shri Mashar Velapurath

Shri Mashar Velapurath assumes charge as the Managing Director of AFC India Limited w.e.f. 1st November, 2021. He holds a Master’s Degree in Agriculture (M.Sc.) from Kerala Agriculture University. Shri Mashar has a well-rounded development sector understanding gained from diverse experience in NABARD. He has good knowledge of the relevant policy landscape and regulatory environment in the focal sectors of agriculture, rural development and other strategic socio-economic domains. He is also equipped with the requisite management capabilities and strategic foresight required to steer the organization.
Shri Mashar worked as an Officer-in Charge of Andaman & Nicobar, Regional Office discharging various functions of NABARD. He was closely involved in formulation, implementation and monitoring of Climate change related projects, NRM projects, capacity building of stakeholders, supervision of DDMs, credit planning, consultancy, etc. He was also associated with the Policy development, accreditation of NABARD to AF, GCF, NAFCC, capacity building of clients, identification of project ideas/concepts, project development, close rapport with MoEF & CC and State Governments; monitoring of watershed and tribal development projects.
